When The Right Time Comes

from Summer Days by Michael Timog

/

about

This song is about making a move at the wrong time. The song is also about the times when someone is having second thoughts about their feelings and how that moment can just make things more confusing.

The song structure was based on a call and response idea. I originally had the idea to have the muse of the album sing the girl part, but I lack the testicular fortitude for such poetic justice. I asked my friend, who happens to be a good singer, to fill the role instead.

lyrics

Oh girl, you got me writing another song
And I laugh because I’m thinking about The thought of you and I together Oh boy, you know no relationships right now
I appreciate the thought, but we can’t somehow
We have the whole world to see, and I want to be free

Right now is not the time
We both can’t compromise without hurting each other’s thoughts
I’ll stop and wait because what I do right now ain’t enough
When the right time comes I hope I’m the one that you see

Sometimes I think I act too old for myself I can’t think that she’d wait for me Sometimes when I’m alone, I’d like to think somebody is thinking of me And that’s where I stand I hope you see
What I’m trying to say without saying a thing
I got you on my mind, but not ready for anything
